Chicago will host 15th annual AICE Awards Show in May

The AICE Awards will celebrates their 15th anniversary in Chicago next spring, with the presentation taking place at Navy Pier, May 12, and the call for entries has gone out.  Deadline is Monday, Feb. 8.

The event is being hosted by AICE’s Chicago Chapter board, led by board president Tom Duff of Optimus. The logo and all design elements are being created by Method Design.

“We take immense pride here in Chicago when it’s our turn to not only showcase the great work at the Awards, but to show off how our chapter can really throw a class-act party,” says Duff.

AICE, open to membership to independently owned post houses, represents some 120 members in the US and Canada; 17 members are located in Chicago.

Categories are Editorial Excellence in product categories, such as automotive; technique categories, like comedy, or genres, like music videos and craft categories a la original music, audio mixing, visual effects, etc.

The local chapters’ best work will compete for Best of Chapter awards and the competition culminates with a Best of Show winner.

Also at the Awards, the first International Grand Prize winners in Camp Kuleshov trailer competition for assistants will be recognized and a member will be inducted into the AICE Hall of Fame.

“Acknowledging our members’ great work underscores the value of working with independent companies,” notes AICE Executive Director Rachelle Madden.

“That is amply demonstrated every year by the work that’s honored at our awards show.”
