Chicago P.D.’s Jesse Lee Soffer and Tracy Spiridakos reunite on the picket lines

Jesse Lee Soffer and Tracy Spiridakos, who portray Jay Halstead and Hailey Upton on Chicago P.D., created an Upstead reunion as they stood in solidarity on the picket lines yesterday.

They made a lot of fans happy to finally see the two back together amidst rumors of their characters’ troubled marriage.

Soffer took to Instagram to share photos of his reunion with Spiridakos, alongside #OneChicago executive producer Derek Haas, captioning it with, “Team, assemble!!”

SAG-AFTRA has been on strike since July 13 after negotiations with the AMPTP failed, and the writers’ guild (WGA) has been striking since May 1 for similar reasons.

The off-screen reunion comes after Soffer’s departure from the show in its tenth season. On-screen, Halstead left for Bolivia to lead a military unit while dodging Upton’s attempts to contact him.

Later during Season 10, Jesse Lee Soffer made a directorial debut with the episode Deadlocked, which focused on Voight’s efforts to prevent jury tampering for a crucial trial. Reflecting on his exit, Soffer mentioned, “One of the toughest decisions I’ve ever had to make in my life.” However, he remained open to the possibility of a return, stating, “Never say never. Halstead’s always going to be in my blood. That’s never going to change.”

Whatever the reason, it does our heart good to see those two back together.
