The Premiere, a new Comedy/Drama film by Jon Silver (The Civil Hoax, Twain: Cancelled), is set to have its world premiere in Chicago.
Filmed completely in the city of Chicago, the story focuses on a young filmmaker juggling countless challenges on the night of his first premiere, including high-expectations, celebrity appearances, and imaginary delusions projected onto the screen.
Comedy talent from Second City, Steppenwolf, Key & Peele, Roseanne, and Strangers with Candy star in a new indie feature film screening at The Davis Theater.
You can catch the screening at The Davis Theater, located in Lincoln Square neighborhood of Chicago at 4614 N Lincoln ave. The screening begins at 8:00pm and doors open at 7pm on Tuesday August 27.
The Premiere explores themes of art, culture, mental health, money and the film industry. Far from Hollywood, Chicago media artists often struggle with lack of fame and success, but most of all, ego and artistic expression. This dramedy delves deep into the realities of being a young artist today.
Cast includes Grant Kennedy Lewis (Steppenwolf) , Adam Schreck (Second City Mainstage), Greg Hollimon (Strangers with Candy), Rick Hall (K.C. Undercover), and Natalie West (Roseanne/The Conners) Jon Silver is a Chicago-based filmmaker coming from a comedy background. He is the Co-Founder of ShowPup Productions and an instructor at Chicago Filmmakers. Jon has worked with Second City, iO and The Annoyance to produce comedy sketches, short films, web series, TV pilots, and more. His first feature The Civil Hoax, was called ‘Can’t Miss Indie Cinema’ by the Chicago Tribune.
The Premiere’s Director of Photography is Michael Fernandez and the film is produced by Jenny Argyle Hogan, Alex Marshall, Kyle Nilges, David Silver, Stan Wozniak, and Michael Fernandez.
