The month of May is absolutely flying by and One Chicago fans have been loyally watching Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D., and Chicago Med on Wednesday nights, each and every week this month. It’s hard to believe that we will have to say goodbye to all of our favorite characters for the summer in just a few days! Set your DVRs, your Tivos, your VCRs, or just a reminder with your streaming service so you won’t miss each of their season finales on Wednesday, May 26, 2021!
Each week has been ramping up the suspense for the final episodes of the season and we can’t wait to see where their stories take us!
Chicago Med starts the Wednesday night lineup at 8pm and while last week’s episode continued with existing plotlines, any resolutions have been left for the season finale, leaving questions such as: What consequences will Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto) face for stealing the medication she gave her mother, and will her mother be ok? Is this the last we’ll see of Ramona? Or is Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt) going to be continuing to deal with her next season? Will Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) and Dr. Sabeena Virani (Tehmina Sunny) be able to work through their obstacles and attempt a relationship with each other? Will Dr. Dean Archer (Steven Weber) actually get help for his PTSD or will he continue to lie to Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee)? We also know that a couple of cast members are leaving the show, so Wednesday’s episode is going to be a doozy!
Chicago Fire follows Chicago Med at 9pm and love is in the air all over Chicago Fire with Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) and Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) getting engaged and Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) declaring his love for Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer). Will season 9 bring us a wedding? We were left kind of hanging with Chief Wallace Boden (Eamonn Walker) telling Casey that there will be some changes. What changes? We know that there is something big planned for the season finale and we just can’t wait to see and find out!
Chicago P.D. follows Chicago Fire at 10pm and left us with a real cliff hanger! After the tragic death of Darrell Miller, the son of Deputy Superintendent Samantha Miller (Nicole Ari Parker), Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) is assaulted and taken in the final moments of the episode, presumably by the same people who murdered Darrell and all those trafficked girls. Was it this Kent Darby, who met with Darrell, or was it someone else, far more dangerous? Of course, the story will carry on into the season finale, but will it carry on to the next season? Will we be left with another cliffhanger? We’re told “Yes!” The words”Mind-blowing” were used to describe the finale.
This season has had plenty of crossovers between the shows and plenty of ups and downs with the characters. Some have shown the extent of their integrity, while other have shown their abilities to “bend the rules”. While we know that some actors are leaving the franchise, we still have to wait to see how they make their exits. One thing for certain, it looks like there are going to be some big surprises for us in all of the season finales!
The excitement begins at 8pm on Wednesday, May 26, on NBC!
