Chicago Fire adds a new cast member in Season 14

NBC’s Chicago Fire is adding fresh energy to Firehouse 51 with the casting of Brandon Larracuente as a series regular for Season 14. The announcement was first reported by Variety, confirming Larracuente will step into a key role when the series returns this fall.

Best known for his roles in 13 Reasons Why, Party of Five, and more recently on the Dick Wolf-produced series On Call on Amazon Freevee, Larracuente will bring a grounded, dramatic presence that fits well within the high-stakes world of Chicago Fire. While NBC has not revealed the name or backstory of his character, speculation is that he will be filling a vacancy left by Sam Carver (Jake Lockett) or Darren Ritter (Daniel Kyri), both of whom are exiting the series.

Season 14 is expected to dive into departmental changes and new mandates, creating a volatile environment for the squad. Larracuente’s addition comes at a pivotal time in the show’s arc, as Firehouse 51 continues to evolve following the departure of several original and longtime cast members.

Larracuente is no stranger to Dick Wolf’s creative universe. Although On Call was recently canceled after one season, NBC appears to have found a new home for the actor within the One Chicago franchise. His casting signals a continued commitment to fresh talent and diverse storytelling within the Chicago-set procedural.

Filming is expected to begin in late July, with production once again taking place on location in Chicago.

Reel Chicago will follow developments as more details are released about Larracuente’s character and how he fits into the fabric of Firehouse 51.
