Chicago filmmakers premiere their first feature ‘That Night’

Broken Bulb Productions, a new Chicago film production company, premieres their first feature film, That Night, on Saturday, April 30th at Logan Theatre.

The comedy, written and directed by 26-year-old Lisle, IL native Zachary Trussell, is about a drunken night with friends that gives a struggling artist the opportunity to advance his career and win back the love of his life.

Filmed around Wrigleyville and the western suburbs, That Night is a night where little choices lead to big decisions, chance encounters to second chances, Uber drivers keep themselves busy in the strangest of ways, and taking the wrong pill can be really bad for the upholstery. For Stacy (Julio Alexander,) an artist with one eye on the future of design and the other stuck looking hopelessly at his ex-lover, that night is tonight.

“Broken Bulb was founded for artists to make their wildest imaginations a reality by being unapologetically curious. That’s why I chose That Night to be our first feature-length film. We went on the journey of making this movie to show people that having a perspective is what makes us all capable of changing the world. Being loosely based on a night my friends and myself experienced I knew it was crucial to include the most intimate aspects of being in your early 20s during this time in history,” says Trussell.

Broken Bulb Productions is hosting an evening of entertainment and fun at their premiere of That Night on Saturday, April 30th to celebrate the city’s indie filmmaking community while donating the proceeds to SkyART, an art therapy program that makes a positive impact on Chicago’s South and West Side youth and empowers them to express themselves and discover their potential through art.

Entertainment will be provided before the 8:30pm screening at Logan Theatre (2646 N. Milwaukee Ave) along with free food, trivia and raffle prizes, a chance to win free drinks and a red carpet for local filmmakers. This is also an opportunity for artist and filmmakers to network. Doors open at 7:30pm.

Tickets are $13.00 and available here
