Moses the Black arrives in theaters nationwide on January 30, 2026, bringing a gritty, Chicago rooted story of reckoning and redemption to the big screen.
The film comes from Simeon Entertainment, G-Unit Film and Television, Taylor Gang Films, and BrooklynWorks Films, with distribution by Fathom Entertainment in collaboration with Simeon Faith, the Nick Mirkopoulos Cinematic Fund, and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.
Inspired by the true story of the fourth century saint, the film follows Malik, a Chicago gang leader played by Omar Epps (Power Book III: Raising Kanan, Juice, House), as he confronts the violent past that shaped him. Wiz Khalifa plays 2wo 3ree, the confident and unpredictable head of Malik’s young crew, while Quavo appears as Straw, the rival leader pushing a brewing conflict toward a breaking point. Chukwudi Iwuji (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Peacemaker) steps into the role of St. Moses the Black under the direction of Yelena Popovic (Man of God).
The film’s ensemble includes Corey Hendrix (The Bear), Cliff Chamberlain (Fargo), Ahmad Ferguson (The Chi), Sambou “Bubba” Camara, Kierra Bunch (South Side), Skilla Baby (Tee Grizzley and Skilla Baby: Striker Music), and former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder.
Behind the scenes, Moses the Black brings together an extensive producing team. The film is produced by Alexandros Potter and Yelena Popovic for Simeon Entertainment on behalf of Simeon Faith. Executive producers include Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and G-Unit Film and Television, Wiz Khalifa through Taylor Gang Films, Omar Epps through BrooklynWorks Films, and the Nick Mirkopoulos Cinematic Fund. The fund is backed by the former owners of Cinespace Film Studios, Alex Pissios and the Mirkopoulos family of Toronto, who also serve as executive producers. Additional producing partners include Brett Hays, Josh Schachter and William Dzombak for Taylor Gang Films, Reginald Ahkeem Berry Sr., John Kynigopoulos and Florence Larsonneur for Simeon Entertainment, and Nat McCormick and Brandon Burrows for Stoic, the film’s worldwide sales agent.
Driven by an original soundtrack executive produced by Wiz Khalifa and featuring Quavo and additional collaborators, Moses the Black blends tension, emotional punch, and a contemporary sense of urgency. Early buzz has pointed to standout performances and a story that aims for something deeper than the typical crime drama.
“This film is about redemption and real change. It’s raw, it’s emotional, and it’s powerful. I can’t wait for audiences to see it,” said Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.
“Moses the Black is an action packed drama that was made to be seen on the big screen. Fathom Entertainment is thrilled to partner again with Simeon Entertainment and bring this heart pounding story with a star studded cast to audiences nationwide,” said Ray Nutt, CEO of Fathom Entertainment.
This marks the second collaboration between Fathom Entertainment and Simeon Entertainment following their award winning 2022 film Man of God.
