More than 6 million Americans are currently living with Alzheimer’s. By 2050, this number is projected to rise to nearly 13 million. In the United States Alzheimer’s and Dementia deaths have increased by 16% during the COVID-19 pandemic.

And between 2000 and 2019, deaths from heart disease decreased by 7.3%, while death associated with Alzheimer’s increased by 145%.

Using her deep faith as a resource, Bochian, is a firm believer that fitness, proper nutrition, mediation and faith help mental health management and healing.

The first session of the book club series began April 19th and the featured title was, The XX Brain by Lisa Mosconi, Ph.D. The book club is FREE for all caregivers of Alzheimer’s & Dementia patients. Others who want to support will gain access to the Book club for a $25 dollar donation to HFC.

In addition to reading the club, Bochian will lead wellness workshops which apply the information found in the book to real life situations.

She will also offer journaling workshops and help participants develop a well-rounded wellness routine so that they can have the tools to take preventative measures to fight Alzheimer’s, dementia, or other mental health challenges.
