(Chicago — 5 December 2018) Tasty food, cool prizes, and dancing are on the menu as the Chicago Acting In Film Meetup (CAFM) celebrates the year with a film industry party, fundraiser, and networking night all rolled into one.

The 10th Annual CAFM Holiday Hurrah happens Monday, December 10, 2018 from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at Carbon Arc Bar & Board (4614 N. Lincoln Avenue in Chicago). The event is open to the entire Chicago film production community and the general public.

Admission tickets are $65 online from December 1 through December 9, and $100 on December 10 and at the door. For tickets, visit the Eventbrite link: https://cafm2018hh.eventbrite.com.

“This year marks a decade of our fun December fundraisers,” says CAFM Board President Steve Scholz, “and we have a lot to celebrate. We’re inviting everyone to party with us, from filmmakers to film actors — and especially film fans!”

Since 2007, CAFM has helped Chicago’s film actors co-mentor each other and connect with the film production community at large.

Along with their members-only monthly educational events, the not-for-profit organization has held public and industry events including Summer Socials, CIMMFest panels, and an Actors Clothing Swap, and they hosted “Happy Hours” with the Chicago Creatives Cocktail Party (CCCP). It has also helped the Food For Friends program at Church of Our Saviour and raised funds for other nonprofit charities like Care for Real, Hephzibah Children’s Association, and Peace On Earth Film Festival.

This year, CAFM continues its tradition of offering “10 Minutes With” Top Talent Agents and Casting Directors, including the newly-opened DDO Artists Agency Chicago.

Among the raffle and auction prizes are a Color Street Raffle Basket, the book Acting In Chicago by actor Chris Agos, handmade candles and jewelry, plus “30 Minutes With Producer Angie Gaffney.”

“We’re proud to offer a variety of prizes for anyone to win,” says Scholz. “If you enjoy sports or local theater, we’ve got you covered. And you just might wrap up your holiday shopping with the prizes you win!”

The 2018 Holiday Hurrah admission price includes a drink token for the first hour (7-8PM), plus hors d’oeuvres, and music for dancing in the 10PM hour. Premium Raffle tickets are $5 each. Guests can save time and money with online pre-sale discounts of 10% off 10, 20% off 20 and 30% off 30 raffle tickets.

Meanwhile, the Silent Auction features Chicago sports tickets (Bulls, Blackhawks) plus “10 Minutes With” Chicago Casting Directors and Talent Agents, each with a $50 minimum bid.

Guests can also buy a $20 blinker pin to play “Heads & Tails” for the biggest prize of the night: a “Winter Weekend Getaway” featuring a two-night stay at Hotel EMC2 – Autograph Collection in downtown Chicago, and gift certificates for downtown restaurants, plus tickets to a show at iO Chicago.

For all prizes, you must be present to win and there are no substitutions or prize transfers.

Proceeds from the event will help fund the group’s ongoing educational work, special industry events, and giving back outreach.

“We’re proud to celebrate another great year for Chicago’s film community,” says Scholz. “So get dressed up Monday night and mingle with some of the smartest working actors in Chicago. We’ll even buy your first drink! We throw one of the best parties in town, and we’d love to see you there!”

Must be 21 or older to attend. Cocktail attire is requested. For more details and to purchase tickets online, visit https://cafm2018hh.eventbrite.com.
