Bulls enter their 50th season, still “Good as Gold”

Bulls point guard Derrick Rose

When the Chicago Bulls players jog into the court at the United Center to the roar of the crowd tonight, Oct. 27, they will be starting their 50th season of NBA basketball.

Helping to celebrate the Bulls’ golden anniversary, the first of three new 2015-16 spots, with the theme, “Chicago Basketball is Golden,” will start air today.

The 30-second spots, combining current and vintage footage, including shots of and by Michael Jordan, were produced by the award-winning BullsTV department, led by EP Brad Siegel, co-produced by The Mill and edited by Whitehouse Post.

The Bulls’ EVP/Basketball Operations, John Paxson, narrates the lead spot, “Chicago Basketball is Golden: Good as Gold,” highlighting a half century of Bulls basketball.

Two other spots, “Tip-Off” and “Momentum,” show that while styles may have changed over the decades, the players’ passion for the game of basketball and the Bulls’ continued pursuit of excellence remain steadfast.

The campaign’s fourth spot will air later in the season.

Also launched Tuesday is a new History of the Bulls.com. It chronicles each year of the team and features legendary player profiles, team facts, photo galleries, and much more.

It will be updated throughout the year.
