Independent award-winning innovation agency, Fusion92, has named uber-talented FCB Chicago Creative Director Josh Hurley, as its new Executive Creative Director.

Prior to joining FCB Chicago, Hurley was a copywriter with Peter A Mayer Advertising and Chicago Creative Partnership. He spent close to a decade at FCB Chicago where he served as Vice President, Creative Director. While with the IPG agency, Hurley worked on Kmart, Valspar, DiGiorno, The Shelter Pet Project and Michelob Ultra (including Super Bowl spots featuring Guardians of the Galaxy’s Chris Pratt). See below:

He also worked on a very funny K-Mart spot featuring a Thor-wannabe:

John Geletka, who joined Fusion92 as Senior Vice President, Agency Services last August, announced Hurley’s arrival in an internal memo which appeared first appeared in Agency Spy:

We’re all at Fusion92 to deliver the best work in the industry. The kind of work that’s crafted with purpose, passion and the customer first. The kind of work we’re proud to tell our friends about. The kind of work that we can tie back to the data, the insights and the real-world business results we drive for our clients.

As part of our ongoing commitment to the work, I’m excited to announce the appointment of Josh Hurley as Executive Creative Director. Josh will set the creative vision for the organization and elevate the discipline at Fusion92 both internally and externally. He’ll partner with everyone and report to me. He’ll also serve on the agency management team.

Josh joins us from FCB Chicago, where he spent the last 11 years leading some of the best creative teams in the world to deliver award-winning creative for brands we all know and love. His work speaks for itself (www.joshhurleycreative.com), but what really gets me excited, and the real value for Fusion92, is the new level of discipline Josh brings to the table. It’s not for the faint of heart, but if we put in the time and challenge ourselves, I have no doubt that we’ll grow this agency to the next level, take on premier clients and deliver the best work of our careers.

Hurley had this to say to The Reel about the move, “This is a place committed to innovation and great ideas in whatever form they take. Truly. There’s an amazing energy at F92. The agency is hungry to do culture changing work and primed to build major brands. We have the opportunity to create a new model here. One based on having the capabilities and delivery power of a big agency but with the speed, thinking, and nimbleness of a boutique.”

Some of Fusion92’s clients include H&R Block, Bosch, Mazda and The American Red Cross.
