“THE SHORTS COLLECTION” of seven short films made by six Beverly Ridge Pictures members during their 2004-2006 Columbia College student days will air on Chicago Cable 25 on Sept. 21 and 28 at 8:00 p.m.
The 3-8 minute student shorts were ambitiously shot in 35mm and 16mm in Chicago with local cast and crew and cover a variety of genres and plots.
“It was the ?Shorts Collection’ that brought us all together,” says director Chris Charles. “We learned our craft shooting short films at Columbia and applied all those lessons to the commercials and features we produced after college,” he says.
The $2 million “Chicago Overcoat” was the full-length feature produced in 2008 by Beverly Ridge’s Brian Caunter, John Bosher, Philip Plowden, Kevin Moss, William Maursky and Charles.
