By the end of the year, Beast Editorial will be part of an entertainment conglomerate “that will only affect us in a very positive way,” says Beast executive producer Melissa Thornley.
Beast’s parent, publicly-owned Ascent Media Group, has sold its Santa Monica-based group of postproduction companies and facilities to privately-owned, L.A.-based Deluxe Entertainment Services Group for $68 million.
“Deluxe’s business line is in keeping with our product offering and will give us terrific synergy with them,” Thornley says of Company 3, Method, Rushes, Encore Hollywood and Level 3 Post that Deluxe acquired in the sale, in addition to Beast Editorial.
Deluxe is the world’s largest motion picture film processor and the industry’s largest provider of Blu-ray authoring.
