Barbizon shares list of support resources for the industry


Barbizon Lighting has compiled a resource list of discounted or free educational opportunities and tools for our industry. If you are aware of one not listed below send an email to Tobin Neis with the item and a link and we can get it added!

The lights will come up again; in theatres, on film sets, museums, and theme parks. We as an industry will weather this storm together.

The USITT Teaching Archive is a FREE online resource for teachers in areas of technical theatre and live entertainment that was assembled by the various USITT Commissions. It features lesson plans for full class period exercises, week- and month-long projects, and even full semesters.

Working From Home – No access to Lightwright? City Theatrical, Inc. and John McKernon announced this today.

If you are currently learning remotely without access to your school’s computers or school’s Lightwright license, you can now access Lightwright® 6 software with a special emergency Lightwright license through June 1, 2020.

Here’s how to use it:

* Download and install the public beta of Lightwright, available here. Older versions of Lightwright will not work with this emergency license.

* Download the .lwtrn file using this link: Lightwright License Exp 6-1-20.LWtrn

* Put the .LWtrn file in either your Documents folder or on your computer’s desktop. Depending on your operating system, it may work in one location but not the other.

* Launch Lightwright. There is nothing else to do.

The license expires June 1, 2020 and is not renewable. Regular and student licenses are still available as usual from any City Theatrical dealer worldwide.
