Chicago P.D. is welcoming a major new addition for its upcoming 13th season. Actress Arienne Mandi, known for her roles in The Night Agent and The L Word: Generation Q, has been cast as a new series regular.
Mandi will portray Officer Naomi Kerr, a former soldier and military contractor described as “a thrill-seeker with secrets,” an intriguing profile that’s expected to shake up the dynamic within the Intelligence Unit.
The casting comes as Chicago P.D. undergoes a period of transition. Mandi’s character will help fill the void left by several high-profile exits over the past two seasons, including series regulars Tracy Spiridakos, Jesse Lee Soffer, and most recently, Toya Turner, who played Officer Kiana Cook.
Mandi took to Instagram on July 22 to share the big news, saying it’s been a “wild few days.”
“Been a wild few days. Couldn’t be more grateful for this new chapter and all the people who made space for me in it— friends, fam and the best team ❤️,” she captioned. “Comin for you @nbconechicago !!!”
Officer Naomi Kerr is positioned to be a compelling new force on the team. Her military background and risk-taking nature suggest that she won’t be a conventional addition to the squad. The character is expected to play a central role in the new season’s storylines, which will continue to explore the aftermath of internal upheaval, including the death of Deputy Chief Samantha Miller and the ongoing evolution of Hank Voight’s team.
As Chicago P.D. heads into its second decade on air, Mandi’s arrival signals a fresh chapter for the franchise—and potentially a new dynamic for viewers to follow when the series returns.
Season 13 was officially greenlit in May as part of NBC’s renewal of all three One Chicago series. The filming of Season 13 of Chicago P.D. is set to begin tomorrow, with a fall 2025 premiere expected.
