(Chicago — 10 May 2018) Arc, the shopper marketing and activation agency of the Leo Burnett Group, today named Elizabeth Harris Chief Strategy Officer, North America.
Harris was previously Arc’s EVP Strategy Director, a role in which she helped develop and implement a wide range of brand-strategy and shopper marketing solutions. She will be part of the Executive Leadership Team, reporting to Soche Picard, Chief Executive Officer, Arc Worldwide North America.
“Elizabeth is a force to be reckoned with — a beautiful mind and innovative leader driven by a passion for brands … and how, why and where people shop them. She truly knows how to inspire creative solutions, driving what we call ‘irresistible commerce’ that changes behavior,” said Picard. “Elizabeth played a critical role in leading Arc to continuous growth in her role as EVP Strategy Director, and I know that her contributions as CSO will be even more impressive.”
In her new role, Harris will oversee strategy — with a focus on marketing to shoppers — across Arc’s portfolio of clients, including MillerCoors, P&G, Dunkin’ Donuts, Coca-Cola and Intel, among others. She will also lead strategy on new business efforts and manage a team of 24 Strategists.
“The relationship between people and brands is becoming increasingly dynamic and shoppers have increasing control over what, when and how they buy,” said Harris. “I look forward to pairing my expertise in marketing strategy and brand planning to deliver data-driven insights and innovative shopper experiences for our clients.”
In addition to her responsibilities at Arc, Harris is an Adjunct Professor on the faculty at Northwestern University, teaching shopper marketing in the Integrated Marketing Communications Graduate Studies program.
Harris’s promotion comes as Arc continues to enhance its leadership and client rosters. In April 2018, Soche Picard joined the agency as North American CEO. Also in April, Dunkin’ Donuts awarded Arc its retail and in-store marketing business. The agency will handle all in-store promotions and activity, including point-of-purchase, merchandising and signage.
