starring Vivica A. Fox.
(Chicago — 2 October 2018) Self-taught fashion and costume designer Anre’ Brownlee creates and directs the wardrobe looks for the new Fifty Shades-esque erotic drama, Kinky.
Directed by Jean Claude LaMarre and featuring an all-black cast, Kinky that tells the story of a successful surgeon (Dawn Richard) who meets a thriving businessman (Robert Ri’chard) and their adventurous BDSM-fueled romance. It is set for release in theaters tomorrow, October 12, 2018.
Starring in the film are actors Vivica A. Fox, Robert Ri’chard, and Obba Babatundé.
“I created some very kinky costumes to excite her young wealthy suitor enough to intensify his pursuit of her,” explains Anre’. “It was important to the storyline that wardrobe become a secondary character that up the couples encounter.”

For over 25 years, Chicago native Anre’ Brownlee has been engulfed in the world of fashion and design. Her first collection, Skin On Skin, debuted at Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week in Spring/Summer 1997. Later, Anre’ became one of the featured designers for Magic Johnson’s Fashion Show for NBA All-Star Weekend for several seasons.
Anre’ was commissioned by Lamarre to work on the Lifetime special, Vivica’s Black Magic and provided some costuming for Chocolate City 2: Vegas Battle. Last month, she was one of the featured designers for the Congressional Black Caucus Fashion Show in Washington D.C.
Another notable partnership of the film is with Bravo’s Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss and her popular intimate luxury line, Bedroom Kandi. Under the strategic partnership, over 100 Bedroom Kandi Boutique Consultants (BKBC) will launch Kinky parties and pop-up pleasure toy stores in over 80 cities throughout the country, leading to the film’s release to include Chicago. Anre’ and company,will make a special appearance at the Kinky party on October 19, 2018.
Kinky, has scored over 12 million online engagements in social media engagement during the last few weeks.
Rounding out the cast are Gary Dourdan (CSI) and Darrin Henson (Soul Food).
Patriot Releasing is handling U.S. and North American distribution.

Anre’ is a self-taught Fashion and Costume Designer in possession of sewing skills,with a background in Makeup Artistry and Photography. Her first collection, called “Skin On Skin,” debuted at Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week and a 30 city fashion show tour in 1997. Later, Anre’ became one of the feature designers for Magic Johnson’s Fashion Show for the NBA All-Star weekend for several seasons. Anre’ became the costume designer, cast member and advertising photographer for a show on Lifetime called Vivica’s Black Magic. She also provided costuming and the image of the movie poster for the feature film Chocolate City 2:Vegas Battle.
