Andrés Ordóñez is taking on a much bigger leadership role at McCann. The former FCB global chief creative officer has been named global chairman and chief creative officer of McCann, adding responsibility for the agency network’s broader global business while continuing to oversee its creative product.
The newly created dual role will put Ordóñez at the center of McCann’s push for creatively driven client growth, as the network continues its integration into Omnicom following the company’s acquisition of Interpublic Group in late 2025.
For Chicago, the move carries an added connection. Ordóñez spent years helping shape FCB into one of the industry’s most awarded creative networks before moving to McCann, bringing with him a leadership legacy tied closely to one of Chicago advertising’s most prominent agency brands.
At McCann, Ordóñez has spent the past year building relationships with major global clients, strengthening the network’s creative community and helping guide work across markets.
His expanded remit will now include a larger role in bringing teams and disciplines together across McCann and Omnicom’s broader Connected Capabilities platform.
“Andrés’ strength as a creative leader is a matter of public record; powerful enduring platform ideas that drive sustained growth,” said Andrew Robertson, global CEO of Omnicom Advertising, to whom Ordóñez will report.
Robertson added that Ordóñez’s creative leadership is matched by a focus on understanding clients’ businesses and uncovering the human insights that can drive growth.
“The truth well told is a way of life for him, and exactly who we want leading McCann,” Robertson noted.

Ordóñez joins president and global chief client officer Ida Rezvani and global chief strategy officer Harjot Singh on McCann’s global leadership team.
“There’s no shortage of big, complicated challenges facing our clients – and that’s what makes this moment exciting,” Ordóñez shared. “I believe creativity does more than solve those challenges: it creates demand, and demand drives growth.”
He added that the next phase will involve getting closer to McCann’s clients and teams while turning business insights into creative work capable of moving brands forward.
Before joining McCann, Ordóñez served as global CCO of FCB, where his teams collected honors across Cannes Lions, D&AD, The One Show and the Effies, as well as an Academy Award of Merit.
His arrival at McCann has coincided with stronger awards performance for the network. In 2026, McCann won the inaugural Creative Brand Lion at Cannes for its work with longtime client Mastercard, while MCN was named Regional Network of the Year for the Middle East. McCann was also named the No. 1 U.S. Agency Network at the 2026 Effies.
The chairman title now gives Ordóñez something broader than the creative department to shape.
For a creative leader who helped redefine FCB’s reputation, the next assignment is McCann itself.
