(Chicago — 22 October 2018) The Midwest Independent Film Festival, in partnership with AICP Midwest, has announced the program lineup for the 2018 Advertising Community Shorts Night, an annual event showcasing the work of commercial filmmakers in Chicago and the Midwest.

This year’s Advertising Community Shorts Night screening selections include a variety of film genres including animation, documentary, experimental, comedy, and music videos that address subject matter including gun violence, tattoos, breast cancer, relationships, and ways in which children look to understand the world around them.

“This program showcases and celebrates the range of talent and passion in this segment of the Midwest filmmaking community, and shows an increasing shift towards honoring the importance of storytelling from many points of view, especially from historically underrepresented voices,” said Amy Guth, the festival’s Executive Director of the annual event.
