The Colonie’s partner Bob Ackerman is the storytelling editor behind Kay Jewelers spot for Stern Advertising that’s been mindful of the moments that make Mother’s Day special. 

Stern Advertising’s ECD/EVP Steve Romanenghi and CD/SVP Tom Papadimoulis led the creative and production on the 30 and 15-second “Chase.”  They filmed in LA with Company Films.

Featured was the Mother’s Gift, a Diamonds in Rhythm® necklace given to Mom by her 7-uear old son, with her husband right behind.  She smothers the boy with kisses and turns to her husband with a thank-you kiss.

Kay’s memorable slogan: “Every kiss begin with Kay.”

Ackerman, whose specialty is the dialog spot, has been editing spots for Stern Advertising and Kay Jewelers — 101 years old and the number one specialty jewelry brand in the US, with 900 stores — and Jared Jewelry, for about seven years, “the last four most consistently,” he says.

Stern Advertising’s Romaneghi called Ackerman “a highly skilled industry veteran who appreciates storytelling and is always able to elevate an idea and an edit to its greatest potential.”
