Leading health and wellness advertising agency AbelsonTaylor has hired digital media and marketing professional James Hesdon as director of performance media. His primary responsibilities are growing and developing the agency’s performance media activation team, overseeing the purchase of programmatic media across brands, and creating and executing successful digital media strategies for clients. He reports to Christie Volke, vice president of media strategy, a unit of AbelsonTaylor’s Integrated Strategy practice.
“Jim is a results-driven digital media professional who has deep experience both in performance media and healthcare,” said Volke. “His skills, leadership and record for delivering measurable business success for clients make him a valuable addition to our performance media activation team.”
Hesdon has more than 15 years of experience helping clients and partners implement effective digital media strategies leveraging search engine marketing, social media, display and mobile marketing, and data analytics His health and wellness experience covers a wide range of brands for clients including Gilead, Radius and Pfizer Consumer Health.
Hesdon joined AbelsonTaylor from healthcare agency Evoke Philadelphia, where he served as senior vice president and media director for three years. He also held senior media positions at other agencies for more than a decade. On the corporate side, he worked in account executive and media sales roles both in the San Francisco office of Microsoft and the New York office of Google.
Hesdon earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Temple University in Philadelphia. Outside of work, he is a long-time associate board member and volunteer with Kids Enjoy Exercise Now (KEEN), a San Francisco based organization that empowers disabled youths by providing them with free, noncompetitive, one-to-one programs of exercise, fitness and fun.
