Danny Manus of No Bull Script Consulting

Screenwriters in the Flyover Zone who have traveled to Hollywood to pitch their story ideas to The Right People can save their travel expenses and time by attending the first ever Chicago-direct-to-exec pitch, hosted by the Chicago Screenwriters Network.

The two day Mini-Pitch Session/Workshop, with three of Hollywood’s very respected, knowledgable and successful screenplay pros, takes place the weekend of July 14-15.

Speakers are Danny Manus, CEO of No Bull-Script Consulting, who calls himself “a pulls no punches, honest but always constructive consultant,” Janet Jeffries, Development Executive, Lawrence Bender Productions (“An Inconvenient Truth,” “Good Will Hunting”) and Ryan Cunningham, literary manager/producer at Madhouse Entertainment (“Safe House,” “Burn Notice,” “Country Strong”).

The instructional part of the weekend starts July 14, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with Manus teaching three 90-minute courses on “Loglines, Query Letters and One Sheets;” “12 Stops to a Screenworthy Script” and “The No B.S. Guide to Pitching Workshop.”

Then, after Manus’s three sessions on Saturday and before CSN’s regular Sunday’s meeting, attendees can pitch their script ideas to Manus, Littlefield and Cunningham.

Cost is $99 to members and $149 to non-members and includes  Manus’ three Saturday, July 14 classes and 8-minute pitches.  Registration is underway.

Location and time for Saturday’s courses and Sunday’s Pitch Session to be announced.

At the CSN meeting, at 6:30 p.m. the three story experts will discuss “the business” and how to break in with one of CSN’s screenwriting board members, at Pork Chop, 941 W. Randolph.
