ENERGY BBDO’S NEW SPOT in its wildly successful Wrigley gum’s “Give Extra, get Extra” campaign, is “The Story of Sarah and Juan,” a 2-minute video currently playing on YouTube and debuting on broadcast and online Oct. 19.
Like previous spots in the campaign, it’s based on the concept that small moments of sharing can lead to something far more meaningful. In this case, it’s a high school boy and girl who move on from his picking up her scattered papers outside her locker, to their being a couple at the prom.
What sets exactly the right tone of the story is the music, “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” sung by “American Idol” finalist Haley Reinhart. Stir Post’s engineer Matt Holmes and producer Mindy Verson handled the audio.
Energy BBDO’s creative team was ECD Andrés Ordoñéz; CD, Pedro Perez; ADs, Ordoñéz, Jose Juan Toledo and Jesús Díaz; copywriters, Ordoñéz, Pérez and Sofía González; EP, John Pratt, music producer, Daniel Kuypers.
London-headquartered Rattling Stick produced the spot. Closer to home, The Mill provided visual effects and design. View “Sarah and Juan” here.
LEO BURNETT’S McDONALD’S spot, “DIY Wedding,” produced by STORY, centers on the newly-weds’ jubilant wedding reception in which they don’t have time to eat. When they get into a limosine and realize they’re famished, they find two McDonald’s Quarter Pounders with Cheese and a note from the bride’s father, “There’s never time to eat at your own wedding.”
Directed by STORY’s Jeff France and shot by DP Brian O’Connell in the backyard of a suburban home; EPs were Mark Androw and Cliff Grant; Merilee Newman, producer; Brian O’Connell, DP; Alev Yasaton, art director and Christine Sorich, wardrobe stylist.
HAVAS’ STUDIO 6 CHICAGO handled a all the post on a new Hefty commercial in which the slang-slinging #PartyHardMoms star in a new online video #Saturbaes, centered on the occasion of tailgating and promoting the brand’s crack-resistant party cups. It’s the first of a series of seasonally relevant online spots, including a holiday-themed one later this year.
Thousand Percent of Brooklyn, New York was the production company. Creatives included CD Shelby Georgis, copywriters Matt Bush and Ellie Brzezenski, AD Carolyn Tubekis; EP Brigette Whisnan and producer Jordan Sider who also produced post.
For Studio 6 Chicago: EP was Lauren Shawe and Kelsey Moher edited; CRC’s Mark Ruff engineered audio, NOLO Digital graded color and CG Graphics the graphics.
