Richard Dominick, veteran TV show producer, director and writer, most notably known for his 14 years of “The Jerry Springer Show” has made a deal that gives him “what all producers dream of – creative freedom, after so many years of working within the boundaries of other production companies.”
Dominick has formed a partnership with Detroit-based Horizon Entertainment to helm his own company, The Richard Dominick Entertainment Group, a full-service entertainment company, in Chicago and Detroit.
Said Horizon/Goomba Music’s CEO Greg Wier, “We have a lot of plans for new movies, TV series and record releases that will be announced in the coming weeks,” and production could begin as early as this spring.
“By combining his successful track record in television with our accomplishments as an independent record company that has worldwide distribution, the possibilities for new entertainment ventures are endless,” Wier added.
In another piece of good news from the Dominick camp, “Hardcore Pawn,” the show he created, was just renewed for a seventh season.
Dominick is best known for guiding “Jerry Springer” during its many years of broadcast out of Chicago’s NBC studios, and creating “The Steve Wilkos Show.”
The entrenched Chicago shows were abruptly moved to Connecticut in the summer of 2009 after NBC Universal was unable to obtain Illinois tax credit at the time for the shows’ production here. The move ultimately closed down Pixel Brothers, a production company that was involved with many parts of the syndicated show utilizing cameramen, audio, editors and equipment rental.
