Third Wheel Entertainment, a Chicago-based production collaborative, released the pilot episode for its web series, Thanks a Latte, on YouTube on Wednesday, July 25.

Thanks a Latte is about Ken, Madison, and Drew – three baristas who work the afternoon shift because they can’t handle the morning rush. But even though the afternoons are slow they always find some sort of trouble to get into, making their daily grind anything but boring.

THANKS A LATTE PILOT

Thanks a Latte’s co-creator, Megan St. John, got the inspiration for the show after spending her first year out of college working in a Starbucks where the overly-complicated drink orders, demanding customers, and disgruntled baristas seemed to be perfect elements for a sitcom.

“Bad Reviews” stars Jack Dwyer as Ken, Megan St. John as Madison, and Brian Walsh as Drew and features Julie Mitre, Cooper Johnson, Marc Wilkinson, Jim Johnson, Jon Yelton, Nilay Gandhi, RC Theriault, Destini Huston, Larry Fulford, Alan Frohlichstein, and Barbara Doyle.

The Third Wheel Entertainment team included producer Trevor Kelley, director and editor Andrew Smith, and director of photography Tom Kinstle.

Locations included the Jupiter Outpost cafe and the Four Treys Tavern of Chicago, and the Tony Betternhausen Recreation Center of Tinley Park.

Plans for a full season of Thanks a Latte are in the works. Fans can follow the series on YouTube, Facebook (@thanksalatteshow), Twitter (@ThanksALatteTV) for updates.
