Schafer Condon Carter launches Look Up campaign for Chamberlain

Independent creative agency Schafer Condon Carter (SCC) launched its latest work for Chamberlain Group – Look Up – a brand awareness and app download campaign for myQ.

Chamberlain Group, a Blackstone Company that manufactures LiftMaster and Chamberlain brand garage door openers powered by myQ, is launching the campaign to encourage homeowners to ‘look up’ at their garage door openers and check if they are compatible with the free, easy-to-use myQ app. The myQ app gives homeowners the power to control, secure and monitor their garage door from anywhere.

Charged with driving myQ app downloads and device connections, the Look Up campaign centers around a homeowner looking up at his garage door opener, captivated by its compatibility with the free myQ app and his newly discovered powers. Completely unaware that his neighborhood is facing an alien invasion, he remains unfazed while neighbors frantically flee. The integrated national campaign rolls out this week across connected TV, online video, direct mail, paid social (Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook) and CRM.

“Millions of homeowners don’t realize their garage door opener is compatible with the amazingly intuitive myQ app,” said SCC Chief Creative Officer Denny Hebson. “To get people excited about the possibilities that already exist in their own garages, we created a campaign encouraging them to simply look up and see their garage door opener in a new light. With a movie trailer feel and visual effects, we dramatize the power of myQ. It’s so captivating, not even an alien invasion can get you to look away!”

“We asked SCC to help us show homeowners the amazing things that are possible if they just look up in their garages. This campaign brings that sense of wonder to life. The garage is one of the busiest entry points in the home for many, and they probably already have everything needed to transform the space into a smart garage,” said Patrick Leitch, Marketing Director for Residential & In-Garage Delivery, Chamberlain Group. “We’re confident this new campaign will motivate people to ‘look up’ and download the myQ app to join the 7 million users who are already enjoying myQ.”

SCC’s previous work for Chamberlain Group included the hit LiftMaster Smart Garage ad campaign featuring a spin on Alan Ruck’s iconic movie scene from the cult classic Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. SCC was named an Ad Age Small Agency of the Year in 2018, 2020 and 2021 and recently took home an Emmy for their Relentless campaign for UChicago Medicine.
