Roscor rounds up experts for HD production day

High def experts will deliver “HDTV State-of-the-Art,” a Roscor-sponsored day of four important seminars on various aspects of HD production, Sept. 29 at Sangamon Street Studios, 100 S. Sangamon.

Topics are aimed at DPs, assistant cameramen, production and post companies, and producers.

“The HDTV State of the Nation” is the first of four seminars. HD from electronic cinematography production to new formats will be covered by Bill Fleming, sales support engineer for Acquisition Products, Sony Broadcast and Production Systems Division.

Lighting designer Don Weaver and DeSisti Lighting’s Frank Kosuda will address lighting techniques for HD.

Schumacher Camera’s Mike Acuna will present “Using 35mm Film Lenses with 2/3-inch CCD Electronic Cinematography Cameras,” how to use traditional motion picture lenses with electronic cinematography cameras.

“Understanding HDCAM SR” is the province of Rick Harding, Sony senior marketing manager, Content Creation Division, notable for being a higher quality form for film-to-tape transfer and an excellent acquisition format.
