Picture North announces the signing of celebrated international director Henrik Rostrup. Known for his compelling visual storytelling and high-profile campaigns with international superstars, including soccer legend Lionel Messi and actor Hugh Jackman, Rostrup also brings a unique perspective shaped by his background in professional sports and creative direction.
“I’m thrilled to be joining the talented team at Picture North as a director. Their reputation for crafting visually stunning, emotionally resonant stories aligns perfectly with my passion for creating work that connects deeply with audiences. Picture North’s commitment to exceptional artistry makes this an exciting step in my journey as a filmmaker,” says Rostrup. “Here’s to the start of something extraordinary!”
Rostrup’s journey into filmmaking began after years on the international mountain biking circuit, where he made the pivotal decision to trade his racing career for a camera. His work in action sports filmmaking quickly gained recognition, with his ski film Teddybear Crisis being voted the third-best ski film of all time by Outside Magazine. His path included roles as a creative director and founder of the production company Atlas before focusing solely on directing.
“Henrik fits our ethos not just as an adventurous filmmaker but also with his incredible aesthetic sensibilities,” says Picture North Founder, Executive Producer, and Director Martin Rodahl. “His visuals are so memorable. Combined with years of experience across automotive, sports, hospitality, and documentary categories, his reel becomes an exciting option for current and future Picture North productions. We have been referencing his work for a long time, and now he’s on our roster. That’s pretty cool.”
