Ovnik joins illustrious MAX-D audio Advisory Board

John Ovnik of Deaf Dog Music

Veteran music composer/producer John Ovnik of Deaf Dog Music has the distinction of being the only Chicagoan and the only advertising music producer who is now serving on the prestigious Advisory Board of Santa Monica-based Max Sound Corp., a leader in HD audio technology called MAX-D.

The MAX-D Audio Process is to audio what HD is to video. It makes everything sound better and can convert any audio file to HD quality without increasing its file size. As such, it will improv.

Ovnik is now part of a 15-member international board comprised of the biggest and most important names in the music industry.  Members from all different niches of the music industry are mostly from the LA area, but also from all over the world, he says.

Word-of-mouth about Oink’s career achievements brought him to the Advisory Board’s attention. Its goals, he says, are to achieve on-going, improved HD audio for mobile devices and streaming audio and movies (like Netflix), audio speakers and even hearing aids.

“I have always done things to make music sound better, even if nobody cared except me,” he says.  “But to be thrown in a club like this with these guys – you can make meaningful waves.”

His fellow board members are so important, he jokes, that in the The Wall St. Journal announcement of the appointment, his name was the only one that appeared in the Journal for the first time.

Actually, Ovnik fits right into the MAX-D Advisory Board’s high standing.  A 30-music industry veteran, he is regarded as a brilliant producer, composer and musician who takes pride in paying attention to detail.

As a producer, Ovnik’s talent has made him the “go to guy” for raising the bar. Superstar Grammy award-winning artists who rely on his expertise include Sheryl Crow, B.B. King, Jimmy Page, Stevie Wonder and Wyclef Jean among many others.

Throughout his career, Ovnik has consulted for many well-known brands such as; Apple Computer, Toyota, ATC Speakers, Avid/ Digidesign and Sweetwater Sound.

“John is a welcome asset and true team player that will help bring the superior sound back to his craft,” says a MAX-D spokesman of their new addition.
