One Chicago Podcast promises an inside look at the hit franchise

One Chicago Podcast

One Chicago podcast has officially launched, promising an inside look at how NBC’s powerhouse trio, Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D., and Chicago Med, come together each week.

Each installment takes us behind the scenes, featuring exclusive conversations with writers, crew, and stars. The series takes a deep dive into the development of our favorite characters and the expertise required to guide three distinct productions into the collaboration that ties them all together.

The weekly podcast is planned for 28 episodes, hosted by Brian Luce, a former undercover Chicago police officer turned producer on Chicago P.D.. Luce’s role as host reflects his long-standing contributions behind the scenes. Initially brought in as a consultant to ensure police authenticity, he quickly became a trusted voice on set, known for his abundance of knowledge, attention to detail and his hands-on involvement in production. Luce also brings levity to the workplace, with a reputation for pranks and practical jokes that have become part of the One Chicago culture.

That sense of camaraderie extends across Fire, P.D., and Med. The productions share a true family atmosphere, with many cast and crew members working together since the very beginning. This continuity not only builds strong working relationships but also deepens the storytelling. As the series age, the actors evolve along with their characters and continually explore what drives them. Each arc develops over time, reflecting both personal growth and the long-term collaboration between writers and performers.

Beyond cast interviews and anecdotes, the podcast promises a wealth of behind-the-scenes stories: how scripts evolve, the challenges of staging large-scale action sequences, and the everyday collaboration between departments that makes the franchise work. Listeners will also hear how authenticity grounds each storyline in reality, whether through medical advisors, fire training, or police procedures.

The first two episodes dropped on September 18, featuring Chicago P.D.’s Jason Beghe and Chicago Fire star David Eigenberg. A new episode will follow every Thursday, complementing NBC’s One Chicago Wednesday lineup and expanding the footprint of the franchise.

Produced by Spoke Media with Realm handling distribution and monetization, the podcast is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, and other major platforms. Select video episodes will also stream on the One Chicago YouTube channel, extending access across formats.

For Wolf Entertainment and USG Audio, the launch of the One Chicago Podcast marks an expansion into companion audio storytelling, capturing the spirit, humor, and collaborative energy that have made One Chicago one of television’s most enduring franchises.
