McGarryBowen Chicago is back in the restaurant business, having lost Pizza Hut to Deutsch, New York, by becoming the Olive Garden’s new creative agency of record, after a three month review that started this summer.
The $155 million account moved here from a 30-year run at Grey New York, a relationship that dates back to almost when the chain was founded and had four locations. It now boasts of 800-plus.
Said Jose Duenas, Olive Garden’s VP/marketing about the account change: “We’re excited to work with McGarryBowen to continue to build the Olive Garden brand and showcase what we are best known for — bringing families together over craveable Italian food — in new and exciting ways.”
“Olive Garden is a famous and beloved brand that we are thrilled to be working with,” said Ned Crowley, McGarryBowen Chicago’s CCO. “We look forward to working together to take the brand and business to new heights.”
Earlier this month, McGarryBowen’s Chicago and New York offices were awarded the JCPenney account, from Doner Detroit, without a formal review.
