Naperville Film Festival runs now till Sept. 25

The Naperville Independent Film Festival opened Friday night with John Wesley Norton’s West Suburban horror spoof, “Paranormal Calamity,” followed by an opening night cocktail party to celebrate the fourth year of the increasingly popular event.

From now through Sept. 25, NIFF will screen more than 100 indie films from 19 states and 10 countries, including 13 winners from the European Film Festival of Paris.

“The European films make this year’s gala a truly international event,” says executive executive Edmond Coisson, festival co-founder with Glessna Coisson of Our Path Productions, Gary Pradel of the Arthur Ray Foundation, and Daniel Nigg of Nigg Media Productions.

The first festival in 2008 attracted 150 attendees and the 2010 event is aiming for 5,000 throughout the week, according to marketing director Centazzo of Scaramouche Productions.
