This week, McDonald’s is venturing into the cosmos with the launch of CosMc’s, a new small-format, beverage-centric concept. The nostalgic and bold concept features a menu of innovative beverages and tasty treats, aiming to provide a brief escape from the mundane.
The first CosMc’s location has opened in Bolingbrook, Illinois, as part of a limited test, with plans for additional outposts in the coming months.
CosMc’s focuses on a fusion of new and celestial beverage creations alongside a select few McDonald’s favorites. The menu emphasizes bold and unexpected flavor combinations, vibrant colors, and functional boosts.
Specialty lemonades, teas, blended beverages, and cold coffee options include items like Sour Cherry Energy Slush, Tropical Spiceade, and S’mores Cold Brew, all customizable with options like popping boba, flavor syrups, and energy or Vitamin C shots.

On the food side, CosMc’s offers a mix of savory and sweet options, such as the Spicy Queso Sandwich, Savory Hash Brown Bites, Blueberry Lemon Cookie Sundae, and Caramel Fudge Brownies. The concept also incorporates a digital and drive-thru experience, allowing guests to explore and customize their orders seamlessly.
By the end of 2024, McDonald’s plans to open approximately 10 CosMc’s pilot locations, expanding the mood-boosting escape concept across the Dallas-Fort Worth and San Antonio metro areas.
