With Nike as a sponsor, the Matthew Foundation welcomes individuals of all ages and abilities to the inaugural Super Fest-Basketball, an inclusive basketball experience during the Women’s Basketball All Star weekend.
Athletes will learn from DePaul Basketball Head Coach, Doug Bruno, and ESPN’s Debbie Antonelli at a fun-packed, inclusive basketball clinic, this Saturday, July 9, from 9 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Rauner Family YMCA in Chicago, Illinois. This year’s event is also expected to feature an appearance bya WNBA player (not confirmed).
This one-of-a-kind experience is a two-hour-long event with a skills development clinic and culminates in a short scrimmage. Sponsors and supporters include Nike, Rauner Family YMCA, Lurie Children’s Hospital, KEEN Chicago, Ascension, and National Down Syndrome Society.
Super Fest-Basketball is an extension of Super Fest-Football/Cheer. Every year since 2016, NFL teams, media outlets, businesses, disability agencies, hospitals, and community partners have rallied around Super Fest-Football/Cheer because of its importance to the community.
The effort has been spearheaded by The Matthew Foundation, a private operating charitable foundation that strives to make a meaningful impact for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities one program at a time. The Matthew Foundation closely collaborates with regional disability advocacy organizations to ensure it meets the needs of the community.
