The team at Reel Chicago feels that Pam Zekman is as much a part of Chicago as Navy Pier, the Cubs, and Vienna dogs. Clearly the people of Chicago feel the same way.
Comments and tributes began pouring in after hearing the disturbing news that Pam lost her position of 39 years as investigative reporter at WBBM due to COVID-19 layoffs.

Pam Zekman, felled for now by CBS layoffs, is a giant of Chicago journalism. Or as the great editor during The Mirage days, Gregory Favre, puts it: “It’s hard to think of Chicago journalism without Pam.” https://t.co/bfl46ujgJz

After following her career for years, I got to sit next to the great Pam Zekman at a post-City Council briefing a few months ago. She's a role model for women journalists everywhere: https://t.co/dNxpdn3k8X pic.twitter.com/N9pjzWLs9o

Pam Zekman is the real deal. A true pro. Witnessed her talents firsthand as she doggedly worked on reports with investigators for the BGA, where I worked for six years. Another dark day for Chicago journalism, which is now more vital than ever to the public interest. https://t.co/w1AJW7TKLt
