Kit Woods didn’t stay retired for long

When Kit Woods retired last June after a total of 33 years working for SAG/AFTRA, her plan was to set off with her husband in their new RV “and travel where we can drive,” she said at the time. So much for planning ahead.

Woods was persuaded to represent the newly formed talent division of L.A.-based TEAM as its Midwest senior advisor/film, TV and digital media.

“I’m their mobile office; I have an RV,” Wood says. “I’m not full-time but I’m available all the time.”

A payroll and business affairs company, TEAM services advertising and new media, original music recording, licensing and residuals, and handles payroll for concert tours and theatrical performances.

“I will work in the Midwest to assist with budgeting and estimating, contracts for mostly movies and TV,” says Woods, who was hired as part of TEAM’s expansion into the employment side of talent for indie films, TV and digital media.

“Kit’s ability to find solutions that help a project move forward fits in at TEAM perfectly,” said Shannon Kerns, partner/EVP. “Kit will be a great resource for our clients.”

For her years of dedicated to working for the benefit of union actors, Woods will receive the Lawyers for the Creative Arts Distinguished Award at a luncheon Oct. 28 at noon at the Palmer House Hilton.

“LCA is so necessary for the Chicago visual media industry. They do amazing work. I can’t tell you how thrilled I am to have been chosen for this honor,” Woods says. Kit Woods’ phone is 847/400?6902; Email
