Energy BBDO Chicago Office leader, Jeff Adkins, steps down

Jeff Adkins

Jeff Adkins, president and CEO of Energy BBDO in Chicago, is stepping down after a long tenure with the Omnicom agency. This move creates vacancies at the leadership level for both BBDO’s Chicago and New York offices.

Nancy Reyes, the CEO of BBDO Americas, confirmed Adkins’ departure in a statement to AdAge, expressing gratitude for his 22 years of dedicated service and leadership at Energy BBDO. Reyes was appointed CEO of BBDO Americas in October after leading TBWA\Chiat\Day New York.

The agency has not yet announced who will replace Adkins or if there will be any consolidation of leadership roles between the New York and Chicago offices. Reyes mentioned that the agency would soon share more details about their next steps. Adkins’ departure follows the exit of Kirsten Flanik, who left her role as president and CEO of BBDO New York earlier this year after 18 years with the agency.

Energy BBDO, which has over 150 employees, manages accounts for notable clients such as Mars Wrigley, Champion, Bayer, The General, and Brown-Forman brands like Jack Daniel’s.

Reyes praised Adkins for building a strong leadership team, including Chief Creative Officer Josh Gross and Managing Director Daale Carter, who she believes will continue driving the agency forward. She expressed optimism about the future and the work coming from Energy BBDO, emphasizing its value within the BBDO network.
