Ecofixr covers Filming Off the Grid at Filmscape

Ecofixr presents “Filming Off the Grid: Sustainably Filming with Batteries & Renewable Energy,” an exclusive panel discussion at Filmscape Chicago Tradeshow showcasing the intersection of cinema and sustainability. This panel offers a unique look at the power of eliminating diesel generators and embracing sustainable energy.

As part of the panel discussion, attendees will enjoy a special screening of A Dance With Light, an enchanting short film directed by Robert Diaz LeRoy. Powered entirely by batteries and renewable energy, this production exemplifies the possibilities of sustainable filmmaking.

The film recently received a screening by Amazon MGM, where it was introduced by the Head of Physical Production Glenn Gainor, and attended by prominent companies such as Netflix, HBO, and Sony.

Reflecting on the impact of the screening, Michael Dalrymple, Chief Sustainability Officer at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA, remarked, “As I was watching the second half, I realized that I was witnessing an inflection point in the history of filmmaking in real time.”

Following the screening, writer & director Robert Diaz LeRoy and producer & Cofounder/COO of New Use Energy Lee Feliciano will provide insights into the creative process behind “A Dance With Light and the importance of sustainability in the film industry.

“We are excited to have the opportunity to share this beautiful film with Chicago,” says Ellen White, CEO/Founder of Ecofixr. “This panel discussion celebrates the artistry of filmmaking and how sustainability has a positive environmental impact and inspires innovation.”

Ecofixr is the first Chicago-based sustainable production service company, dedicated to reducing the environmental impact of the entertainment industry while engaging the community and promoting resource recovery.
