The Chicago office of Company 3 has relocated to the 26th floor of 515 N. State, where it will operate from the same building that houses Cutters Studios.

“We are very happy about this new location,” says CEO Stefan Sonnenfeld. “We fully intend to continue serving this very important region with Tyler (Roth) as the top talent in the city.”

Roth, who began his professional career as a colorist with the Filmworkers Club in 2006, opened Company 3’s first Chicago office at 435 Michigan Ave. in 2012. Since then, he has lived up to Sonnenfeld’s boast by becoming one of the most highly sought after professionals in the field.

Besides working with brands like Reebok, Lamborghini, Samsung, Porsche, Miller Lite, LEGO and Chevy Camaro, he has handled color for many of the films emerging from the Chicago and Los Angeles film communities. Along the way, he earned credits for films premiering at Cannes, Sundance, SXSW and TIFF.

Among his achievements covered in Reel Chicago was the 2017 film, Underwater, directed by Russ Lamoureux. Based on a 50-year-old John Cheever story, it was the first short film shot with Panavision’s Millennium DXL.

Roth not only beta-tested the DXL prior to filming, but he also maintained contact with Panavision product director Michael Cioni throughout Underwater’s post-production.

Company 3 was founded by colorists Stefan Sonnenfeld and Mike Pethel in Santa Monica in 1997. Although the address of its Chicago office may have recently changed, the company plans to deliver the same expertise it has always offered the Windy City.

“Company 3 has been an integral part of the advertising community in Chicago since we opened the facility almost six years ago,” says Roth. “I look forward to launching the new operation and continuing to partner with my agency friends, directors, cinematographers, and editors in our exciting new space.”
