Christmas in July is taking place Saturday, July 30 at Brothers’ Field, an outdoor venue in the heart of Historic Downtown Long Grove and is presented by Sock Monkey Museum.
Following its November 2021 premiere on AMC+, Christmas with Felicity will have its big screen debut in the community where filming took place.
The event begins at 1:00 PM with family-friendly activities, including tractor rides, firefighter walk-throughs, face painting, and outdoor games. Movie-themed food and snacks will be available for purchase from local businesses Joanie’s Pizzeria of Long Grove, Ma and Pa’s Candy, and Signature Popcorn. Cocktails, beer, wine, seltzer, soft drinks, and water will be sold by the venue. When the sun goes down, the day will be capped off with back-to-back screenings of Christmas with Felicity on a huge 50-foot screen with surround sound.
Attendees can take photos on the red carpet and mingle with the cast and crew. Star Sarah Brooks, co-star Saige Chaseley, and director Jack C. Newell will attend and participate in a pre-screening Q&A. The production company behind Christmas with Felicity, Chicago’s own Very Merry Entertainment, will also be making an exclusive announcement about the film’s 2022 availability as well as its next movie.
Christmas with Felicity follows a struggling young baker who is in no mood for the holidays when she returns to her small hometown, where her festive family and a handsome farmer try to get her back in the Christmas spirit. While the story is set primarily in the fictitious Wisconsin town of Aspen Grove, the majority of the film was shot on location in Long Grove. Additional photography took place in Barrington, Buffalo Grove, Glenview, and Palatine.
