It’s been almost a week since Daytime Emmy Award winning actress Anne Heche was taken off life support after donating her organs following a fatal car accident in Los Angeles.
Jesse Lee Soffer, who plays Jay Halstead on Chicago P.D., and who has also appeared on Chicago Med, recently shared photos from the last day Heche was on the set of Chicago P.D. with a touching tribute and condolences to her family on his official Instagram account.
“I haven’t really known what to say. I just want to pay my respects. Anne was such a kind person. Always generous. Always funny. I’m so sorry for her family. I hope they know how many people she really touched. I think these pics were from her last day on set with us.”
The two photo carousel also included a snapshot of Heche and Soffer with Tracy Spiridakos, who plays Hailey Upton and who also shared many scenes with Heche.

Shortly before her high school graduation, Heche was offered a dual role on the daytime soap opera Another World where she rose to fame and earned a Daytime Emmy Award. After appearing in many projects, she appeared as Maggie in the Academy Award-nominated 1997 film Donnie Brasco opposite Johnny Depp as Brosco. Heche maintained a career in Hollywood for years with recurring roles in TV shows such as Ally McBeal, Everwood, Nip/Tuck, Men in Trees, Hung, Save Me, and Chicago P.D.
From 2018-2019 Heche played Deputy Superintendent Katherine Brennan in 11 episodes in Seasons 6 and 7 on Chicago P.D.. Brennan held the second highest rank office in the CPD until her arrest in Season 7. The character played a game of cat and mouse with Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) until she was ultimately caught and taken into custody by Halstead and Upton and charged for the murder she comitted. Brennan was then found guilty of murder and incarcerated for three years.
Heche was proud of her work on Chicago P.D. and shared a pic of herself with Beghe and director Eriq La Salle on her official Instagram back in 2018.
Heche’s death was a tragedy that continues to touch the hearts of all who worked with her, knew her, and enjoyed her performances.
