Chicago-made ‘The Murals’ indie doc screens with concert Oct 28

The Murals a one hour documentary about the New Deal era Uptown Post Office Murals in Chicago, will screen on October 28 followed by a short Q&A with the director TG Jamroz covering how and why they were made by Henry Varnum Poor, why they feature Carl Sandburg and Louis Sullivan, and how they inspire people today. There will be a short live set of soundtrack music featuring The Pickin’ Bubs, TG Jamroz and Ric Nitz immediately be following the Q&A.

This one hour documentary is fresh from screening to sold out audiences in New York at the Rockland County Historical Society and ROCA art Museum.

Henry Varnum Poor lived in Rockland County when he created the ceramic tile murals in Chicago. His handmade house is the subject of preservation efforts currently ongoing in Rockland County, TG Jamroz is a filmmaker / performer who has written and directed many indie films, stage plays, and music videos.

Jamroz’s projects have screened at the prestigious Gene Siskel Film Center, Landmark Century Cinema, Brew and View at the Vic, and around the world. He has appeared as an actor in The Dark Knight, and onstage in Chicago at theaters like The Artistic Home.

Jamroz has written and produced four albums of original music which can be heard streaming online under the name, The PlatinumTears (including music recorded for this project) and he has directed a six-volume DVD lecture collection by world-famous mobilewavefilms.
