The inaugural Midwest TV/Film & Theatre Solidarity Brunch, a celebration of unity and collaboration within the Midwest entertainment industry, will be held this Sunday at Cinespace Studios. It is presented by the Actors Federal Credit Union in partnership with the Actor Empowerment Summit, founded by Chicago-based actor Michael A. Dean.
Designed as a day of connection and support for the region’s entertainment community, IATSE, Teamsters, WGA, AEA, DGA, SAG-AFTRA, PGA, Admin, Non-Union, Support Staff, this event aims to foster solidarity in light of the ongoing challenges faced by the industry.
Taking place this coming Sunday at Cinespace Studios, attendees will enjoy a delicious brunch catered by Beyond Catering, participate in insightful industry panels, and be treated to live entertainment by Biossat Custom Productions. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Independent Film Alliance Chicago, further supporting local filmmakers and creatives during these difficult times.

In discussing the purpose of the event, Dean shared, “We know how many people and businesses have been affected by the strikes of 2023 and continue to be affected today. The Solidarity Brunch is a way for us to show our resilience and support each other as one community.”
The brunch is not only a gathering of industry professionals but also a platform for fostering deeper connections across TV, film, and theater in the Midwest, highlighting the importance of unity and collaboration in navigating the ongoing effects of industry-wide disruptions.
