Our film community has lost a beloved member of the family with the passing of filmmaker, Lorin Fulton, who fought a courageous battle with cancer and passed on January 11.
Known as the AD who effortlessly kept the set running smoothly and at the same time managed to keep things fun, Lorin was a role model for many. She worked on a number of Chicago made features, TV series and commercials, and when you saw her name on the call sheet you knew you were in good hands.
She was a member of the DGA as an AD for 30 years, working on films such as Fargo, Shameless, South Side, 61st Street, Empire, American Gods, Chicago Fire, Suits, The Red Line, JFK, Problem Child, Prison Break, Toy Soldiers.
When she wasn’t working on a set, Lorin’s passion was her organic farm in Cambridge, Wisconsin where she lived. The limestone farmhouse at Old Stone Farm was built in 1840, before Wisconsin became a state. The main crop is organic garlic and Lorin was known for bringing fresh fruit and veggies to the set for all to enjoy. Lorin was also a gifted artist and if you knew her you likely have one of her paintings.
She is survived by her husband, Ted Lichtenheld, her son Cameron, her two dogs Scout and Grace, and many dear friends.
There are Celebration of Life gatherings being planned in Dallas and Chicago on January 21. We will update this page when we receive more information about the time and location of the Chicago event, or if we receive information about a memorial service for Lorin.
