L.A. grows a little more like home for Chicago expats in the theater and film industries, as Windy City Players host their Inaugural Fundraiser Nov. 6 at the Knitting Factory in Hollywood.
Chicago native and actor Carmen Mormino launched the Chi-centric theater company, and its cinematic division Windy City Films, last spring.
Windy City Players is dedicated to producing work from and about Chicago.
“Everybody who hears about the group is so behind it,” Mormino said. “People have been most impressed by the way we’re handling all the business first, building a solid foundation. We’ve had over a hundred people at each of our three major meetings.”
