Reacher spinoff series Neagley spotted filming at the Cubs-White Sox game

When a series is set in Chicago but filmed in Toronto you know they will show up here eventually. Chicago’s Wrigley Field became the backdrop for a scene in Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming Reacher spinoff series Neagley, as the cast and crew descended on the city for a four-day shoot last week.

Fans in attendance at the May 17 Cubs-White Sox game were treated to an unexpected spectacle when actors Maria Sten and Alan Ritchson were spotted filming in character during the live matchup. The production staked off Section 131 of the stadium for filming during the game.

Sten reprises her role as Frances Neagley, a fan-favorite from the Reacher series, in this new spinoff that shifts the spotlight to her character. The series focuses on Frances Neagley, a female private investigator based in Chicago and former member of the Army’s 110th Special Investigations Unit, as she investigates the mysterious death of a close friend. While Neagley is not directly based on any single Lee Child novel, it builds on the universe fans have come to love, now expanding it through original storytelling.

Ritchson’s presence at Wrigley Field confirms that Jack Reacher himself will appear in the episode being filmed, likely as a guest star supporting Neagley’s journey. His brief return adds an extra layer of excitement for longtime viewers eager to see the chemistry between the two former military investigators once again.

Following up on what Reel Chicago reported earlier this year, the production began in Toronto in February 2025 and will continue through June. Chicago is an integral part of the character’s story and may feature prominently in the series. In addition to Wrigley Field, scenes were reportedly filmed in other parts of the city.

Neagley is expected to debut on Prime Video in late 2025 or early 2026, with high stakes, familiar faces, and Chicago as a backdrop.
