“CHEF AL FRESCO” is the title of a pilot created by Pixel Brothers’ partners Andrew Ryann, Michael Torchia and David Moravec.
In the pilot, Shawn McClain, the renowned owner/chef of Green Zebra, Spring and the new Custom House, rises to the challenge of cooking outdoors and away from his well-staffed kitchens.
McClain’s cookout was shot with a DVPro-50 Panasonic SDX 900 atop the big Mt. Tom Dune overlooking the lake at Indiana Dunes State Park.
Using a rustic wood-fire pit with a grill, McClain dished up a marinated duck breast, served over creamy polenta, and coucous in a pot he cooked on the grill.
Host is local actress Elizabeth Isibue. The pilot is being pitched to Fine Living, Travel Channel and the Food Network. “The show has an urban vibe to it that keeps it from being a campy, fishing, outdoorsy show,” Ryann says.
