Chicago Med is set to wrap its 10th season tonight, May 21, 2025, with a gripping finale that promises to deliver an emotional and suspenseful close to the season.
The episode titled …Don’t You Cry is packed with personal revelations, ethical dilemmas, and life-changing events for several of our favorite characters. Set against the backdrop of high-stakes medical cases and unresolved personal conflicts, the finale brings several storylines to an intense and emotional boiling point.
One of the central plotlines revolves around Dr. Hannah Asher (Jessy Schram), who discovers she is unexpectedly pregnant while undergoing testing to serve as a surrogate for her sister, Lizzie (Jocelyn Hudon). The news threatens to upend her plans and her relationship with Lizzie, with showrunner Allen MacDonald warning that the sisterly conversation “does not go well.” The identity of the father remains uncertain but could tie back to Dr. Mitch Ripley (Luke Mitchell), Hannah’s former romantic partner.
Meanwhile, Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt) is front and center in what MacDonald calls the “Charles Trilogy”—a three-part emotional arc exploring the psychiatrist’s personal grief and growing concerns for his daughter, Anna. The finale reportedly sees Anna in real danger, pushing Charles to his emotional limits. MacDonald teased a “powerhouse performance” from Platt that could be one of the season’s highlights.
At the hospital level, Sharon Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson) faces a difficult leadership moment as she weighs major budget cuts, while a complex transplant case involving Ripley tests medical ethics and hospital policy.
With Chicago Med already renewed for Season 11, tonight’s finale sets the stage for new directions and evolving relationships at Gaffney Medical Center. Fans of the long-running NBC medical drama can expect a mix of heart, tension, and surprise as Season 10 draws to a close.
Chicago Med finale airs Wednesday, May 21 on NBC and will be available for streaming on Peacock starting May 22, 2025.
