THE GENE SISKEL CENTER of the School of the Art Institute never fails to delight when it comes to its annual fund-raiser, with a luminous Hollywood actor, director and producer, who, says SAIC, “advances the art of cinema.” 

Continuing in this tradition is the June 15 “A Summer Soiree with Gwyneth Paltrow,” at the Ritz-Carlton.  The versatile Oscar winning actress will be presented with a Renaissance Award celebrating her career. 

She will discuss her career, her many diverse roles and the artistic process and a retrospective of film clips from some of her most notable performances will be shown. Presentation by SAIC president Dr. Walter E. Massey.   

LEO BURNETT CHICAGO will manage the global agency’s newest account — taking on the creative duties for Pfizer Consumer Healthcare’s heartburn medication Nexium as it makes the giant leap from a prescription drug to over-the-counter medication.  

More than 200 Burnett employees from the Chicago, London, Paris and Berlin offices contributed to the pitch. Nexium had third-quarter 2012 sales of more than $1.4 billion

TWO OF THE TOP 10 top social media savvy agencies, as surveyed by website Agency Post were Havas Chicago for Sauza Tequila’s “Make it with a Fireman” and Hy Connect’s “Dirty Dog Contest” to grow Facebook followers for the launch of Wahl Clipper Corporation’s new line of pet shampoo.

The Sauza Tequila video had 3 million views and generated more than 40 million impressions Sauza sales for the early May Cinco de Mayo period grew almost 17%.

“The Dirty Dog Contest” attracted 400 unique entries, an 800% increase in “likes,” and Wahl gave a $5,000 grant to the ROAR rescue on behalf of the dog receiving the most votes.
