A new non-union, full-service talent agency has bowed in Mt. Prospect with a roster of some 400 talent and is in the market for a lot more. Paige Ehlman has opened Paige Models and Talent Agency, following nine years as director of now-defunct Royal Talent Agency of Schaumburg.

Royal closed Sept. 1, when the owner retired and two months later Ehlman seized the opportunity to be in business for herself.  This wasn’t much of a jump since she has been in the talent game since she began modeling at age five.

“Coming from a creative and performing background, I know what it’s like to be in front of the camera. I have compassion,” she says.

Many of Paige Model and Talent Agency’s “high caliber” models and actors moved over to her agency when Royal closed. One of goals is to bolster her roster and, she says, “I am especially looking for ethnic actors and models and improv actors, from age 3 up.”

Her business covers the full gamut of commercials, film, print, kids and teens, seniors, extras, voiceover, trade shows, hand models, fitness models and beyond.

On the film side, she booked actor Greg Williams for the “Chicago Fire” episode airing Jan. 22.

Talent agency owner Paige EhlmanEhlman’s primary goal is to “maintain and grow fantastic relationships with talents, casting agents and clients,” she says.  Recent print ad assignments have come from  Walgreen’s, Sears and Kmart, along with videos for internal marketing use.

Luna Carpets and Empire Carpets have been longtime clients, along with pharmaceutical companies, fitness purveyors and athletic equipment distributors, production companies, casting and ad agencies.

Ehlman sees her strength as an agent in her modeling background. She walked runways for Montgomery Ward’s starting at age five, acted and sang in high school productions and choirs. As a trained vocalist, she has appeared in multiple musical theatrical performances around Chicagoland.

Ehlman obtained her talent agency license immediately after graduating from Loyola in 1996. “I love the industry but didn’t know if I had the guts to be an actor,” so she decided to utilize her business talents and parlayed them into a lifelong career.

Paige Models & Talent Agency’s website is in the works.  She can be reached at 847/910-2645.
